'Fashion Meets Technology' Collection by Tine Beez
Tine Beez, fashion graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London , has launched her ‘Fashion meets Technology’ active wear collection featuring technology from Fibretronic. The collection incorporates Fibretronic’s keypad and joystick controllers in her garments to enable the wearer to keep their iPod safely in zip-locked pockets while still having easy access to the control panels.
The collection, inspired by the mountaineer George Mallory, combines natural fibres with Nano-technology and the latest fabric innovation to create a functional but visually striking range whose roots are firmly in the outdoors. Despite Mallory’s attempt to conquer Everest being almost 100 years ago, tests have shown that his outfit made using only natural fibres was more advanced than many of today’s sports and mountain wear.
In addition to Fibretronic's technology, the ‘Fashion meets Technology’ collection uses natural fibres and practical design features to ensure freedom of movement, warmth, and ventilation. Natural healing fibres such as Milk-Pearl and Aloe Vera help moisturize the skin and stimulate blood circulation in the outfit’s inner layers. Nano-technology is used to enhance wind protection and waterproofing in the outer layers without changing the fabric’s natural properties. Shock absorbent pads are also integrated into the garments to assist in safety and accident prevention.
