Decathlon Partners with Fibretronic for Wearables
Fibretronic has been selected by Decathlon as its technology partner for iPod controls in garments and bags. 'Wed'ze', the snowboarding and ski brand is the first of Decathlon's brands to feature Fibretronic's wearable technologies in its Fall/Winter 08/09 range of garments.
Wed'ze has incorporated Fibretronic's five function joystick controllers in the sleeves of men's and women's snowboarding jackets (products FS9-iPod Jacket and FS9L iPod Jacket). The joystick controller has also been applied to the sleeves of men's and women's ski jackets (products RNJ-900 iPod Jacket and RNJL-900 iPod Jacket). The jackets retail from £119 to £149.
Fibretronic's keypad controller was chosen for integration in the strap of the FR9-SBS Audio Backpack by Wed'ze retailing at £79.
Decathlon is the world's second largest sporting goods retailer operating 400 stores worldwide with sales of US$7.1bn in 2007. The company is renown for its extremely well-engineered and mission tested sports products.
